During the One Year War, it served as one of the key bases for defending Side 3, the Principality of Zeon's homeland, alongside A Baoa Qu and Granada, and was commanded by Vice Admiral Dozle Zabi.
Towards the end of the One Year War, it was the target of Operation Harpsichord, the first phase of the Earth Federation Forces' counteroffensive into space.
From December 24, 0079, to the following day, a large-scale battle unfolded between Solomon and the Second Combined Fleet, led by Admiral Tianmu of the Earth Federation Forces.
After defeating the main Solomon fleet, the Second Combined Fleet, under Admiral Tianmu's command, charged en masse into Solomon Fortress through a hole in the defense line.
