1. How I got hooked on metallic paint
After returning to Gunpla after being stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic and building a few kits, I built the 100-type, my childhood favorite. ☺️ When I built the 100-type about 40 years ago, the only metallic paints available were gold, silver, black, and iron, so I painted the 100-type in golden yellow instead of gold. I wanted to build a golden 100-type, so I used Tamiya spray paint in gold. At that time, I learned about the various gold varieties now available from Creos and Gaia Notes, and about a painting method called candy paint, and I became interested in metallic paint.
