Al sneaks out of the house in the middle of the night, and on his way home in the morning, he happens to spot Bernie and pursues him. He arrives at the Cyclops' hideout, where their leader, Hardy Steiner, invites Al to join him to avoid trouble, gives him a bugged unit badge, and orders Bernie to keep an eye on him. Unaware that he is being watched, Al helps search for a missing container and develops a close relationship with Bernie. When Bernie, who is keeping watch near his house, is mistaken for a thief by Chris, he lies and says he is his half-brother, which convinces the Mackenzie family. Based on the security guard's testimony, Al and Bernie track down the Federal Army's secret base and successfully photograph the NT-1.
