The reason this works is because people choose and buy aircraft based on whether they like the aircraft itself or the pilot who pilots it.

To scalpers, even a box of plastic junk can become a plastic fighter plane model if you cut out the parts with pliers, stick stickers on it, remove the release oil, paint it, and assemble it.
