After carefully considering the balance and finishing the rough sketch, I suddenly held the parts upside down... and lo and behold, the lines I'd drawn started to look like a "face"! (laughs)

It's a phenomenon called "simulacra," where three dots or lines come together to form a face. Once I saw the face, I couldn't see anything but a character with a troubled expression, and I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

It's these kinds of accidental moments of relief that make building Gundam models so enjoyable!
